Minister Ó Cuív welcomes €433,000 investment in Ealaín na Gaeltachta

Minister for Social Protection Éamon Ó Cuív TD, has today (Thursday 20 May 2010) welcomed the announcement by his colleague, Minister Pat Carey TD of an investment of €433,000 by Údaras na Gaeltachta in Ealaín (na Gaeltachta) Teo.
The investment will facilitate the further development throughout 2010, of a joint arts initiative within the Gaeltacht, run in partnership with the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. Welcoming the news Minister Ó Cuív said: “I am delighted that Government funding of €433,000 has been secured for Ealaín na Gaeltachta who have been working successfully with artists and arts organisations over many years in the Gaeltacht, providing dynamic local arts experiences and enhancing the quality of people’s lives. People’s first encounter with the arts often occurs locally and this investment will facilitate further artistic expression. It will also ensure that the involvement of artists in the creative life of the Gaeltacht is supported and maintained. I wish Údaras na Gaeltachta, Ealaín (na Gaeltachta) Teo and An Chomhairle Ealaíon continued success with their partnership approach and arts development work. ”
