It is substantial financial investment, particularly for the Oranmore area (€300,000), and it is vital for future protection from flood damage. The Government is committed to alleviating localised flooding and is fully aware of the risk to people and property - and to the economy - from flooding. Good planning is vitally important to avoid and reduce such risk and it is crucial that we continue to be proactive in this area.
