In welcoming a new school for Clifden Community College, Minister Ó Cuív said:
“I have worked closely with the local community and school to progress this project. Last Spring following a meeting I had with the local parent support group in Clifden, I arranged a delegation to meet with Minister for Education Batt O’ Keefe. At this meeting, he informed them that the band rating of the school had been improved. I am delighted that as a result of this, this school has now been given the go-ahead to prepare detailed plans and all necessary statutory permissions. When these are received, I will press that this project will immediately go to tender and then to construction."
