Volvo Ocean Race to set sail in Galway again – Ó Cuív
Written by Eamon Ó Cuív Wednesday, 10 March 2010
At the formal announcement of the finishing port in the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012 in Dublin today, Minister Éamon Ó Cuív congratulated John Killeen, Enda O’Coineen and all their colleagues in “Let’s Do It Global” on their great achievement in attracting this race back to Galway again.
“I would like to praise John Killeen, Enda O’Coineen and their colleagues in “Let’s Do It Global” on this achievement and I am sure that everyone in Galway and in the west will be hoping that it will raise both the community’s spirit and the local economic tide.
“I would also like to thank my colleague Martin Cullen TD, Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism for his support for the project and Fáilte Ireland without whom we would not be at this point here today.
“I look forward to seeing the sails of these boats on Galway Bay again in two years time.
“I am certain that the people of Galway will give this race the same support this next time as they did during those enjoyable sunny days of last summer.”
