A grant of €61,927 sanctioned for Coiste Forbartha Chorr na Móna, Co. Galway - Ó Cuív

Éamon Ó Cuív T.D., Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, is pleased to announce that he has sanctioned a grant of €61,927 to Coiste Forbartha Chorr na Móna, Co. Galway, to enable them to develop a playground in Corr na Móna. A grant of €51,606 is being sanctioned under the Gaeltacht Improvements Scheme and a grant of €10,321 is being sanctioned under the CLÁR programme.

In Ballina, Co. Mayo yesterday evening, Monday 2 November 2009, the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Éamon Ó Cuív TD, held a public information meeting about the RAPID Programme. Ballina, along with four other towns, (Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and Rathkeale, Co. Limerick), has recently been included in the RAPID Programme. RAPID (Revitalising Areas by Planning, Investment and Development) is a focused Government initiative to target the 51 most disadvantaged communities in the country.

RAPID groups to visit counterparts in Belfast to look at community-friendly alternative to traditional Halloween bonfires

The Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Éamon Ó Cuív TD, announced today that he has arranged for community representatives from RAPID areas in Cavan, Dundalk, Cork and Dublin to meet with their counterparts from community groups in Belfast to discuss piloting a community-friendly alternative to traditional Halloween bonfires on a cross-border basis.

Ó Cuív to visit 5 new RAPID towns

The Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs announced today that he will hold public information meetings in each of the five towns recently included in the RAPID Programme. On May 28th this year, Minister Ó Cuív announced the Government decision to include Ballina, Co. Mayo, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and Rathkeale, Co. Limerick in the RAPID Programme. Ó Cuív urges immediate allocation of €45m under the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013
