Níl leagan aistrithe ar fáil.Minister Éamon Ó Cuív has been informed by his colleague Noel Dempsey T.D., Minister of Transport, that the planning of the Moycullen Bypass on the N59 is at a preliminary design stage and is being prepared on the basis of the preferred route corridor already selected.
Minister Dempsey has also informed him that the Preliminary Design and Environmental Impact Report will be completed in 2010. As well as that, CPO documentation is being prepared and will be completed in Quarter 4, 2010, subject to relevant approvals.
Minister Ó Cuív welcomes the significant progress that is being made on this project, which is of vital importance to, not only the Moycullen area, but to all of the area west of Moycullen.
“I will continue to work with my colleague Minister Noel Dempsey T.D. to ensure that funding is provided for this project. Along with the planning that is ongoing on the road from Oughterard to Clifden, these upgrades on the N59 will provide a really enhanced road connecting Clifden to Galway.”
“I am delighted that the work at Derrylea near Clifden, is near completion and when this stretch of road is complete, it will make a significant difference to motorists travelling to Clifden on the N59.”
“I also welcome the provision of the Supplementary Pavement Allocations provided to Galway County Council by the National Roads Authority recently for the N59, they are:
€100,000 for the Cleggan junction
€65,000 for spending at Glengowla between Oughterard and Maam Cross.
€75,000 for spending at Garrowman (West of Recess).
€295,000 to be spent on the stretch of road between Cnocnaraw and Moyard.
€100,000 to be spent at Glennagevlagh.
€63,000 to be spent at Tullyconnor
€200,000 to be spent at Streamstown.
€230,000 to be spent at Letterfrack; and
€750,000 to be spent between Tullywee Bridge and Kylemore at the Inagh Valley junction.
“These works will be designed, tendered and constructed in the current year. The provision of this extra finance of almost €1.9m will make a significant impact in terms of travelling surface on the N59. The provision of money along with the use of macadam pavements should ensure that motorists on the N59 will notice a significant improvement in the quality of the road by year end”.
Éamon Ó Cuív T.D.
