Éamon Ó Cuív TD, Minister for Social Protection has today (Friday, 30 July 2010) welcomed confirmation from the National Broadband Scheme providers 3, that the following eleven district electoral divisions (DEDs) in Co. Galway (list below) are to be covered under the National Broadband Scheme and are expected to go ‘live’ for broadband by October 23rd at the latest, with certain areas going ‘live’ before then.

Éamon Ó Cuív TD, Minister for Social Protection has today (29 July 2010) welcomed funding allocated by Government to support organisations that help people with disabilities and mental health needs.  Two key Galway-based organisations Ability West and the Galway Centre for Independent Living are to receive €26,890 and €41,750 respectively.

Ó Cuív welcomes €2.2 million in Government funding for Galway water and sewerage treatment

Éamon Ó Cuív TD, Minister for Social Protection has this afternoon (Wednesday 28 July 2010) welcomed Government funding of over €2.2 million which is to be allocated by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to both Galway City and County Councils to assist with the running costs of the Councils’ water and sewerage treatment plants and the sampling and licensing costs associated with the water services. Under the grants announced today by Minister Gormley, Galway City Council is to be allocated €488,000 and Galway County Council over €1.7m.
