Ó Cuív welcomes Govt climbdown on Imported Fodder Transport Scheme

Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Agriculture, Éamon Ó Cuív TD, has welcomed the announcement by the Minster for Agriculture, after sustained pressure by Fianna Fáil, that the Imported Fodder Transport Scheme will be extended by one week.

The Dáil debated a special Fianna Fáil motion on the fodder crisis this week; where an extension to the scheme was requested.

FF calls for more resources to address fodder crisis

Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Agriculture, Éamon Ó Cuív TD, has called on the Government to ensure adequate resources are made available to deal with the ongoing fodder crisis which still continues despite the improved weather conditions this week.
 
Deputy Ó Cuív has also called for a dedicated unit to be established to co-ordinate the response and in particular to ensure a similar fodder crisis does not happen again.

Ó Cuív calls for extension of fodder scheme to include all agri-businesses

Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Agriculture, Éamon Ó Cuív TD, has called for the Imported Fodder Transport Scheme to be extended to all reputable agri-businesses.
 
Deputy Ó Cuív was reacting to the announcement today that the scheme has been extended for another week as the deepening fodder crisis shows no sign of abating.

Ó Cuív welcomes €150 million Glanbia investment

Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Agriculture, Éamon Ó Cuív TD, has welcomed the announcement by Glanbia of an €150 million investment in a new milk processing plant that has the potential to create over 1,000 jobs.
 
Deputy Ó Cuív commented: “The announcement that Glanbia is to construct a new milk processing plant at Belview Port is welcome and has huge potential for job creation in the south east and beyond.

Ó Cuív urges farmers to seek help with fodder crisis

Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Agriculture, Éamon Ó Cuív TD, has urged distressed farmers to ring the Department of Agriculture’s helpline and contact their local District Veterinary Office (DVO) to avail of assistance in dealing with the fodder crisis.
 
Deputy Ó Cuív was speaking after the Minster for Agriculture, Simon Coveney, told the Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture today that a special helpline has been set-up and that DVOs have been provided with whatever money is necessary to assist the farming community.
