Minister for Social Protection Éamon Ó Cuív TD has welcomed Tesco Ireland’s announcement today (14 July 2010) that it is to create 110 jobs in a new Oranmore branch.
The announcement is part of a €113 million investment in Ireland by the company.
The Minister for Social Protection also welcomed the commitment by Ecoseal the home insulation company, to expand its workforce in Galway and Mayo by 30 staff. The 30 new jobs will be created in the delivery of Ecoseal’s cavity wall and attic insulation products as well as in administration and sales. The company already employs 15 people at its location in Galway city.
Minister Ó Cuiv said: “I welcome these job announcements for the west which come on foot of recent positive news from Merit Medical (100 new jobs) and ÉireComposites Teo (securing €1.9m contracts).
“Today’s announcements by Tesco Ireland and Ecoseal are significant and the investment outlined by both companies is indicative once again of the quality, enthusiasm and flexibility of our available workforce. This has been a challenging year for our economy and the announcements today mean new employment, new services and additional opportunities within the community.”
