Níl leagan aistrithe ar fáil.Éamon Ó Cuív TD, Minister for Social Protection has today (29 July 2010) welcomed funding allocated by Government to support organisations that help people with disabilities and mental health needs. Two key Galway-based organisations Ability West and the Galway Centre for Independent Living are to receive €26,890 and €41,750 respectively.
The grants were announced by Minister Ó Cuív’s colleague, Minister of State John Moloney TD and were awarded by the Genio Trust which aims to support people with their transition from institutional care to a more personalised way of living within disability and mental health services.
Speaking today Minister Ó Cuív said: “I welcome this funding of almost €70,000 to the Galway Centre for Independent Living and Ability West. Both of these organisations do excellent work in empowering people with disabilities to take control of their own lives, enabling them to integrate where possible, within local mainstream activities. I know that a high number of quality applications sought grant aid from this particular Trust fund and I congratulate both Galway-based organisations in securing their grants. Their success is indicative of their commitment and dedication to people with disabilities.”
The Genio Trust is a partnership between the Government and philanthropy, developed with the support of Atlantic Philanthropies, the Department of Health and Children and the HSE.
